Hi,
This virus Snap.do suddenly appeared on my computer attaching itself to Google Chrome which I use as browser.
I immediately deleted Google Chrome then re-installed it; now I could use Chrome again but as soon as I clicked "New Tab" Snap.do was still there.
I browsed the web and there are many sites explaining how to remove Snap.do but to be honest having already got this virus I don't want to risk playing around with unknown sites many of which demand money for their programs.
I downloaded AVG to see if this would locate and get rid of it but no it still remained so I then downloaded Virgin Media security which has now isolated Snap.do but unfortunately each time I try to open a new tab I now receive a "Dangerous Page" warning.
Allowing Snap.do into my computer is entirely my own fault because when it appeared I received a pop up warning saying do I want to allow this site; as I'm still getting used to my new computer I didn't recognize the warning so clicked cancel and now can't completely eradicate Snap.do.
I like Chrome and like being able to open new tabs which I find most useful but now I'm stuck with the Chrome front page only.
I'm very much a novice when it comes to this kind of thing but I believe it can be removed by going into the "Registry" I don't know how to do this and if I did I would be worried about doing more harm than good.
Can any of you computer experts please advise on how to dump Snap.do once and for all?
Kind regards, Col.
