Good engineering but not convinced about that engine, can't be diesel and no ignition that I can see or bearing shells either or thrust washers..compressed air? If this is so it's not an internal combustion engine which I was hoping to see, maybe it's not finnished yet.

The Ferrari gets the Gold Medal, it really is incredible that one man should take so long making it, and develop the skills needed to do it . Someone who takes a couple of years to restore a radio is considered dedicated by our groups.

I wouldnt demean the V8 maker though, to me its a wonderful achievment even if at the moment it only runs on compressed air. Actually thats a very good and safe way of demonstrating it in operation. I wonder how much larger the Ferrari engine is? possibly being larger its easier to fashion ignition and fuel injection.

At about 6:30 they run it in the dark - you can see the flames out of the exhaust...

The engineering is excellent, it's just that initially I was expecting to see a working internal combustion engine like wot that scale Spitfire engine does, I guess on reflection the timing gears are a bit of a give away.

I posted it in the first place and was a bit cynical as there were no exhaust fumes. However, the internal combustion engine is about as mysterious to me as transistors are.
