Hi Alan, I am a tad confused, the title states 1924, on the inside of the lid it says 1929, and you refer to it as 1934,
(not a criticism Al, please don't take it as such) , but which is the true date? looks a nice piece of kit though.
Now you have just to find a horn loudspeaker

Sorry Paul that one was a museum radio hence the date on lid. The pictures above are my set, which i was told is 1924 Cossor Melody Maker....i assume this is the correct date as is comes up on the web as the same looking set.....Alan. ps see link below, the picture origionally posted is on this site see lid. date amended.

What are the valves in this one, and from that I can work out the voltages you need.

Hi Gents, I think it may be a later set as it has an SG valve; these did generally not come in until 1927.
It appears to be the predecessor to the 234 melody maker which had 2 coils in cans and all valves vertical; there was an earlier one still that had the large coil and all triodes.
Many of this family of sets were supplied as kits, with a huge fold out set of instructions that even detailed wire prep lengths, but only a tiny drawing of the circuit.
