Spot the obvious error

Seen on a tour of Aldwych tube station last weekend. I alerted the guide to the problem. She said she would report it back to the relevant people.

I zoomed up on the tunnel entrance and could see the entire rim of it and no tracks.

Ref, I think may be on the wrong lines (if you'll pardon the expression). I think Frank has spotted the problem And it's nothing to do with the Tube as such.

As far as we know there was no televising during the war.

Peter and Frank are right. Unless some new evidence emerges. In any case, even if TV cameras were present there were no transmissions. There are stories of the Ally Pally studio kit being run up later in the war, but again no public transmissions.

I suspect what they meant that some performances were filmed by the newsreel companies.

As a youngster I slept down the Underground during the Blitz.
Didn't even see a stills camera of any reporters.

Our guide said that some well known entertainers, including George Formby, had played in the tube shelters.
