Hi Ed & every one thanks for advise keeping this one as standard as it is not getting used much been slightly OT my main set is a white DAC90A i fitted Ed Dinning auto transformer did my modification fitting a UL44 valve and this set runs very cool nice bright dial lamps but not over the top and it sound great and is very reliable kind regards Bob

The thing is they still leak. Even lifting pin 4 isn't a total cure. I've seen many with positive grid 1 volts upsetting the bias. 10P13s are hard to find as it is and when used as a frame output there is no direct equivalent for vintage TVs a UL41 or 44 will work but linearity often cannot be corrected, so it's now a shift from those that collect DAC90As and us with 405 Line TVs. My personal belief is to fit a UL84 and rebase the holder, these are very reliable valves and in more plentiful supply. We don't want the radio collectors pinching our TV valves

I have gone over to UL46 as a sub. Easy to arrange the top cap connection.

A UL84 conversion is the recommended replacement for a UL41 in my 1970 Mazda data book, with a bigger cathode resistor.
