Are 2-pin Po;arised mains connectors available?

I'm currently repairing/restoring a DAC90A, and, as the original mains chassis connector is broken, I would like to replace it with a Polarised 2-pin mains connector, but cannot find anyone who stocks such a thing.  Are such things made, preferably in a version rated at maybe 3A max.?

Use a 3 pin connector and ignore the earth or use one of the IEC defined types here: https://cougarelectronics.com/power-conv...uppressor/
Don't know which will be the easiest to find but probably C17/C18 as most of the others are obsolete.

Bulgin make C18 types (part no. PX0690/28) and are available from Mouser :- https://www.mouser.co.uk/ProductDetail/B...vV2Q%3D%3D
The small C3/C4 types (or bigger C11/C12) would be ideal for our purposes but I've never found anyone who sells them.

Much easier to use an ordinary 3 pin "kettle" C13/C14 connector and ignore the earth.

Don't forget that there's no absolute guarantee that a mains socket will be wired the right way round. In some countries the plugs are inherently reversible.

True, Jeffrey, but as I shall be wiring the socket into the DAC90A, I'll make darned sure it's wired the correct way, and if I supply the lead to go with it, it'll be one with moulded on connectors at both ends, so that I know everything is as it should be when I hand the set back to it's owner. I can hear the purists condemning the above as 'not original' and 'out of keeping with the original design', etc.,etc., but there is no way I'm going to use one of those original reversible chassis plugs, even if I could get one, so it's either the IEC socket or a hard wired mains lead & plug, because I'd choose safety over originality any time!

There are, but rare for 220V. However it's pointless as it doesn't make it any safer. Its safety depends on the isolation of the cabinet.

Having polarised connectors doesn't reduce the requirement for keeping humans away from the chassis. While in most cases the chassis will be at neutral potential, you can't entirely rely on the wall socket being correctly wired. Also under some network fault conditions the neutral can reach unpleasantly high voltages.

I like these and often upgrade the 2 pin on AC sets so I can add an earth
as these are often small enough that I do not need to cut the slot in the card back any bigger
as its used on laptop PSU's I find the leads easy to find
