Recommend a DAB+ please

As the Crown would seem to be unfixable, has anyone got a recommendation for a reasonable DAB+ radio?
I'll only buy a cheap one as they are all unrepairable Chinese boxes of pap tat and I will not have anything from Pure on principle.

They seem to all use one of two DAB modules, small speakers and either earphone or class D amps.
Buy a cheap one, put it in a bigger box with a decent IC audio amp.
I've not seen one with enough FM presets.

If the stations you want are on DTT, then a DTT box and amp.

In fact she bought a second one so that she now has one beside the bed and one in the kitchen.

As it also has WiFi, she also uses them for stations not available on DAB.

But cheap, they are not!

But you are paying 3/4 of the price for a label owned by Glen Dimplex. Almost certainly the same insides is available at a fraction of the price, or a better assembled insides still cheaper. This has zero connection with the historic Roberts.

Sam, I wonder what your objection to PURE is? I've never owned one, but have seen and heard quite a few, and they mostly seem well made. My main gripe is that no spares or service info. is made available, but then service info. for most modern radios seems to be non-existent anyway. Even Roberts, who are very helpful when it comes to parts for analogue radios, won't supply spares for their DAB ones.

I've got an older Roberts Internet radio, if the price seems high you might be able to find a decent 2nd hand one at a reasonable price.

The VQ Hepburn I have was also used with a little wear & tear, and is also a limited edition Emma Bridgewater pattern if you like a radio wth "yummy mummy" polka dots!

So far I've not had any problem with either of them.

I had dealings with them a number of years ago, they were not very nice about the way they spoke to me and I don't like their business practices.

I also will not deal with BT for similar reasons.

I agree with Sam re Pure.
A very unhelpful lot and they can be rude and demeaning. I've a tiny Dab + Goodmans pocket radio, less than £25 it has FM as well and feeds an audio amp via the headphone jack perfectly. Very sensitive too.

Pray, Mike, what is a DTT box? New tech is not my scene. Will it work on 12v only in a steel boat, Faraday cage par excellence. No external aerials.
The Crown was superbe, always got a signal, 12v supply. It replaced a Pure ( Spit ) and was streets better.

Digital TV set box for TVs or Screens. Chinese ones for Hong Kong market work here and even come with UK plug on the external PSU. I think only for radio & SDTV in UK as they support HD and not DVB-T2. It has analogue audio out.
I have one that works on 5V or 12V (I forget which), lower power than many DAB sets and LED digits to show channel.
I've used it with a €6 FM TX adaptor to listen to the RTE DAB stations on an FM radio as they are simply duplicated on digital TV.
A little 10cm / 4" whip aerial with magnetic base is the aerial.
