Bias Probes for Valve amplifiers

These, for those who aren't aware of them, are devices made from a valve socket and a valve base soldered together, with the anode pins being brought out to a pair of test leads so that the anode current can easily be measured by connecting a suitable ammeter in series.  Last year I bought one made for KT66 valves from 'That's Audio' in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, and found it very useful when repairing a Marshall JTM45 Guitar Amplifier.  Similar probes for other types of valve may be obtainable from 'That's Audio' or other suppliers. I'm sure I've asked this before, but how do you insert a URL in this forum - unlike on at least two others, there's no 'Insert link' symbol here.
Further edit; Having just checked That's Audio's eBay Shop, they don't appear to stock Bias Probes, but there are several eBay sellers who list them.

If I want one of those I will just make it up.
I found an old ski pole and carted it home and use slices of it with those octal plugs that can be bought in quantity from China.
Epoxy works very well because the ski pole is made of some kind of composite.

Well spotted, Gus! I couldn't work out why the forum's software hadn't detected the link in Post #1!

Apart from the automatic detection and format method, there is an insert function for use if you want to add descriptive text to the link like this..

It's a standard symbol: look at the fourth group of symbols from the left above the composition area and just hover your mouse over them in order (you may find the others useful too) and when you get to the three links of chain (get it?), that's the one you want!

There is something else wrong with that web link.
I tried it in a search using the body of the link and the top site was an adult face painting web site
I usually just open a new tab and get the web site I want to link to on the screen and then copy and paste the link from the top of the browser or wherever the URL shows into a line in the post with nothing else on that line.
Avoid putting a full stop at the end of the URL as these do what they say on the can and put a full stop on the URL working.
The link button in the full editor allows you to add a link title in your post.
Lets have a couple of photos of all the bits of one of my valve adapters.
In the data sheet reader screen photo the scope looks like it is displaying the waveform of a pile of parts that it is laying on

That's because That's Audio-a.k.a. Oxford Powershop don't stock them. I , in fact, bought mine from an eBay seller some months ago, but thought I'd obtained it from That's Audio, from whom I bought a new rectifier valve. Apologies, folks!

You should just be able to type in the link and the editor recognises that and converts it into a hyperlink.

You had a typo in your link - instead of a colon ":" you had a semi-colon ";", i.e. "https;", so the editor didn't convert it. I have now corrected that for you in the original post

Can't remember when I last TYPED a link except when having to copy one from a paper document. Copy and paste is the usual way.
