Transistor radios made in Scotland

Were there ever any commercially produced transistor radios made in Scotland ?
I know that there were some valved sets, e.g. Seymour Products in Arbroath but was wondering about transistor sets.

Seymour started in Ashton, Tameside but it is thought that the cabinets were always made in Scotland. Eventually the whole product was moved as you say but production soon ended.

Hi.
There were certainly a few manufacturers in the Valve era up here in Scotland. Duncan Leece Is a bit of an authority on them.
The only transistor one I remember was a Timex Radio I think in the 70's or 80's. To be fair though I don't know if it was made in Dundee or whether it was just a Japanese set with a Timex logo.

I asked the same question over on UKVRRR (see :- https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/show...p?t=141799 ) and got a few replies, the most interesting being from Norman in Fife who said that Philips had a factory in Dunfermline in the early 70's that made transistor radios.

Probably not transistor related but Ekco had a factory at Farme Cross in Rutherglen. Apparently built during WW2 to be safer than southern England. I worked there as a contractor in the 90s (PA and intercoms), by then they were called Polywarm and made thermal wear and quilts. Possible connection there as Ekco made electric blankets in the 70s? The factory was demolished about 2005.
