Anyone ever seen a Meridian F80?

I hadn't until today, when someone brought one to me with a roken telescopic aerial.  This a seriously heavy, solidly built, compact Radio, plus CD/DVD player/recorder, made in the UK, and also branded 'Ferrari' c/w their 'Prancing Horse' logo.  One unusual feature is that it has two aerial connectors, one is a standard 'F' type, the other, which accepts the T/S Aerial is of a type I've not come across.  There are pictures & reviews on the 'net, but none that I've seen shows this aerial connector clearly.

Further to the above, having been asked if I could replace the broken T/S aerial on a F80, it has occurred to me that if I can't get the original type, and I've emailed Meridian to enquire about this, I could probably fit a standard DAB-type T/S Aerial to the 'F' socket, and ignore the other connector - I haven't opened the radio to see if the two sockets are in parallel, and may have difficulty in getting a Black DAB T/S aerial from elsewhere, but this may be the way to go.

A Correction to my original post. Both aerial sockets are 'F' type. On close examination what has happened is that, when the T/S aerial came off (or was taken off - I don't know which), the outer screw-threaded part of the socket was oulled away with it, leaving the centre socket protruding. A new gold plated 'F' type aerial socket will be needed, as well as a new T/S aerial. Also the CD/DVD parts are players, not, as i erroneously stated, recorders.

Hi.
These were around £1500 when they came on the market during the mid naughties I believe.
They are one unit I'd be very careful with, being expensive when new and still going for high prices secondhand make sure you are well covered for all possibilities.
Spares wont be cheap and most owners would want OE parts than something made up.
It's only advice to be fair but give the customer a decent estimate as sometimes being too cheap can land you in hot water.

Thanks for the advice, Trevor. I knew they were expensive when new, partly because the owner told me so, and partly because of the fact that it's so heavy for it's size that it's obviously well built (and in Britain, too!). Hopefully I'll get a reply from Meridian on Monday, probably quoting some eye-watering price for the T/S aerial, which is basically just a standard, albeit black 5 or 6 section (I didn't count them!) one. I'll then have to find out the price of a new 'F' type chassis socket. In the meantime I may check if any F80s are on eBay and if so at what prices, just out of curiosity. Prior to this, the most expensive item I had in for repair, abot 10 years ago was a pre-war Ekco Radio, one of which had then recently sold on eBay for £800. I treat all items with care, but that one I handled with kid gloves!!
