BNC connectors seem a nightmare ! RG58 and RG59, solid inner conductor, stranded inner conductor, different cable diameters, solder or crimp connector !!
So this seemed worth a punt: http://cpc.farnell.com/pro-signal/psg03208/bnc-plug-hq/dp/AV18794?ost=psg03208&searchView=table&iscrfnonsku=false&ddkey=http%3Aen-CPC%2FCPC_United_Kingdom%2Fsearch
The cutters for outer and inner are worth having allowing a clean cut of the cable outer here (RG59 75 Ohm). Braids folded back and the silver foil folded over. Getting the inner neatly under the screw is a fiddle but OK if you are dextrous.
Would have ben good to have found a universal plug that would do all cables, diameters and conductor types, where Z doesn't matter. This works but for mission critical applications is doubtful. The cable here is left loose in the barrel and seems no attempt at a crushable cable grip.
