BBC picture monitor.

What make and type of picture monitor is the presenter watching?
It looks like a 21" CRT.  Big screen for those times.

Not sure about this but I think the BBC used to repackage domestic TVs (or buy them from a specialist company) for lower grade monitor requirements. Apart from the well known use of the TMB272 this would involve adding an isolating transformer, removing the RF/IF and adding a video input.

Paul Marshall and Brian Summers are likely to know more than me on this subject.

Can't identify the monitor but the presenter is Cliff Michelmore, I reckon.



I note that he died just over a year ago at the age of 96 ...

I don't recognize it either.

I think is is a proper video monitor from the indicator light visible through the front panel.

Which may be a piece of trim added by scenery to make it look more attractive?
