D-Jix DVD Bluray player.

A request for help from Mr. Jerome Halphen, Paris for information to assist the repair of a D-Jix DVD and Bluray player.
What we need to do here is to find out the original manufacturer of this attractive unit.

Good day Gentlemen,
to continue playing my large collection of DVDs as physical players are on the way out, I am stocking up on new machines for the future.

I have 3 D-Jix DVD/BluRay players mentioned in the first post (PVS1007-20BR) and I am searching for the dezoning procedure as I have many USA Zone 1 DVDs.

Any help appreciated,

My blu Ray Samsung bought last year cannot be de-regionalised, I believe this is common with blu Ray players. Are DVD only players still available?

I read the Wikipedia BluRay article:

I learned 2 interesting facts : there are only 3 region codes for BluRay versus 8 for DVDs.

70% of BluRay releases are not region coded!

So the problem of dezoning the D-Jix really concerns the DVD section not BluRay.

These players require 2 lasers, red at 650nm for DVD and violet at 405nm for BluRay,
 so it's really 2 machines in one.

Another interesting quote from Wikipedia :
Unlike DVD region codes, Blu-ray region codes are verified only by the player
software, not by the optical drive's firmware.

But i guess this applies to computer standalone BD drives, not to portable players
With built-in screens.

If this search ends up fruitless, i'll just stock up on standard DVD portable players
Of a name brand such as Philips and forget BluRay. I actually have very few BluRay disks.

Hi.
In practice there are two lasers combined into one optical block to keep costs down and simplicity.
I also agree that it is the DVD section that is much harder to de-regionalise than on older DVD only players.
