Live in Runcorn which is now regarded to be in the Liverpool City Region or to use the description I prefer: Greater Liverpool. Started work in industrial chemistry but quickly turned my hobby of radio and electronics into a career. For most of the past three decades I worked on my own account mostly troubleshooting industrial control systems and high-power electronics, typically thyristor drives and inverters rated up to 900kW. My grounding in chemistry helped when involved with process control and instrumentation.
Now retired, and as soon as I sort out my new home and set up my workroom I hope to be involving myself in radio and electronic construction. Fortunately I still have my own test equipment from my working days with most of it battery-powered (including scopes) because it was normally used working on live equipment (especially drives!).
Basically that's it. If possible, rather than the description of "Technician" etc. could I have "Cyborg" under my avatar? There's a very good reason.
By the way, that object my mouth in my avatar is an FM radio!

Cyborg - and yes, I am. Fitted with implanted cardioverter/defibrillator.
