They were never made in enough quantities and go for a small fortune now so I decided to have a bash at a replica ZX80 computer kit. Ok, this one is not exactly vintage but the design is 35 years old and a worthy footnote in computing history.
It works quite well. OK, it's not very fast and the screen jumps a bit with it's limited interrupt handling that was only fixed when the ZX81 came out a year later but for me it's a nice easy test bed computer for all those odd computer chips and Z80 cpu's I can plug in and check over. I spent Xmas with my 9 year old son putting the computer together and introducing him to electronics and how everything is the sum of all it's various parts.
