What's next, David? A redesign of the space shuttle? (It certainly could do with it, that monstrous horse designed by a committee) - though I don't think a 555 timer was involved, nor a doorbell...
But as an exercise in problem solving, this piece of committee-assisted but Yorkie-filtered brainstorming has been both successful and entertaining. Thanks for that!
Regards
Tony
Yes, it's been quite gratifying to have had so much input and encouragement from all concerned, in bringing this little project to a successful conclusion, and devising a PCB for it. As an aside, I've just taken delivery of some sheets of 'micro-porous film' designed for ink-jet printers, which I hope will work out better on my Epson for PCB masks than does conventional OHP acetate sheets. The film is described as 'perfect for UK photo stencil emulsion and will make denser prints which will mask out any UV light'. So, I'll see how they work out when next making PCBs.
I'll get on with the little 555 tester now - I've got quite a lot of 555s of unknown provenance so for what little effort is involved, it's worth making a tester.
