We hardly ever edit posts here - generally, the only times I edit posts are to correct the formatting of a quote, as explained here: http://golbornevintageradio.co.uk/forum/...p?tid=4638
And as I explain in that post, it's no real hassle for me to do that, and I assume that no-one would mind because I'm just changing a presentational aspect rather than the actual content? I see it as "housekeeping", and I certainly wouldn't add a comment to draw everyone's attention to the fact I needed to do anything. But all comments about this are very welcome (best in that thread rather than this one).
It's difficult for moderators because we can be seen as "different" to regular users, even when we don't have our moderator hats on. This means that our comments can occasionally be misinterpreted - especially when we type in a hurry (well, I speak for myself here). If anyone ever felt that I'd overstepped the mark by even a small amount, I'd hope that they'd approach me via PM to seek clarification first rather than assuming the worst possible interpretation of the text?
Moderation is not easy, but I am always keen to listen and learn. In general, I'm only in "moderator mode" when I use one of the "cop" smilies (
or
), and at all other times, just treat me like a regular member
My other role is tech-support, and that is something I quite enjoy. So if anyone - new or established - needs any help with the forum, start a thread, drop me a PM, or add to an existing thread if appropriate...
Either way, we provide this service to you, our members - without you, we're nothing. Please enjoy it
Cheers,
Mark
