magneto wanted

Hi Gents, does anyone have a magneto in their spares box?
I'm looking for one for a small stationary petrol engine, coupling not important as it will be machined to suit the engine. The sort that was fitted on small cement mixers in the 50's would be ideal.

Did they really have separate Magnetos?
I've got some ancient Villiers and B&S Engines and they all have the Magneto built in.
I'll ask my contacts.

Hi Alan, yes a lot of the very early stuff had a separate magneto; I remember fixing simple cement mixers with a cylinder head "pond" for cooling water that used a magneto. I believe flywheel magneto originally came in with road vehicles where it could be combined with a lighting coil.

A wipac magneto would do the trick which was fitted to petter a engines and the trusty tractor I sold some on the sale site a few months ago but they do turn up at the steam rally's
