It's now just a week until the NVCF. Hope to see lots of you there. The hall has been extended again and access from the "field" side has been improved.

BRING and BUY
As usual Jeremy, Brian and I will be running the Bring and Buy stall. This raises money for the Vintage Wireless Museum. If you have a few items for sale you can bring them to the stall where we will do our best to sell them for you. You can either:

a: Donate items. 100% of the sale price will go to the Museum
b: Sell items. 10% of the sale price will go to the Museum. You get the remaining 90%.

For donations all you need to do is leave the stuff with us.

If you're selling you can help us by making a list of the items, numbered from 1 upwards, with brief descriptions and prices. Please also label each item with the number from your list and the price. Please put your name on the list. Please also leave space for us to add an initial letter to each number. That way we can tell your number 2 from somebody else's.

If any of stuff hasn't been sold, donation or sale, please take it home with you. We don't have facilities to dispose of abandoned kit. Items can be withdrawn from sale at any time. We can pay you for your sales at any time. We open as soon as the doors open to early entrants at about 9am. We close at the end of the show at 4pm.

FORUM COURIER SERVICE
If you are bringing stuff for others to collect you are welcome to leave it at the Bring and Buy stall. Please ensure it is labeled with your name, the recipient's name and any other relevant details of the route. We don't like mysteries

hi guys, anyone going to birmingham [leamington spa] next week ?if so the irish contingent would like to meet some of the golborne crew, joe guilfoyle whos a forum member will have a hurdy gurdy museum t shirt on and will be travelling in a small grey van, so look out for them, sorry i could not get there myself ,best regards maitiu.

I'll be going, with my wife Jennifer and younger son Christopher (not so young - 45!). Previous years forum members have informally arranged to meet by the Bring and Buy, but with mixed success as it's such a large venue and people become engrossed in browsing and forget to meet up. I'll make a point of being at the B&B at noon just in case anyone else cares to be there to exchange pleasantries. Seems a shame to just shuffle past each other like ships that pass in the night!

(Maybe Joe G and the Irish contingent might get a few moments to stop by?).

In any event, along with my wife and son I'll be in the restaurant shortly after for lunch.

Just a brief update for everyone:


The NVCF is definitely going to be another busy one.
The weather is looking good on Sunday for Warwickshire so that will be a great help.

There will be an exhibition by the THG of Telephone related equipment with many working items to entertain. Far to many for me to list here.

The Warwickshire Exhibition Centre has been busy adding to the size of the building, which means that they have released to us another area the size of the entrance section which makes the hall look a good deal bigger.
There are also improvements to the area at the back of the hall and entry doors.

We were not expecting this area to be available for this event, so we now have an area that will take about 30 more tables to use.

Unfortunately the company who has supplied us with the shuttle bus from Leamington Spa station has closed down. This was due to retirement.
However we have managed to book another company at short notice to supply this service, so there will still be a shuttle bus as usual.
The difference will be that a charge of £3 will be made for each journey.
We have to do this as the new company are a lot more expensive than the old one and we cannot take on "all" of the several hundred pound hire fee for the day.
I am assured that this is much cheaper than a taxi from the station which would be more like £10 each way.

Opening times:

Doors open for stall holder setup 07:00

Doors open for early entry 09:00 (This is subject to the fire officer giving the all clear !)

Doors open for all visitors 10:30

If you are a stall holder at the NVCF, please be aware that we are legally bound to have the OK from the Fire Officer before we can open the doors at 09:00 for early public entry.
We do a couple of checks around the building to make sure everything is safe and that no stall holders have created a hazard by putting large items into gangways.
PLEASE KEEP THE GANGWAYS CLEAR. You will be asked to move things and this could hold up the early entry opening.

Early entry is £25 per person

10:30 entry is £8 per person.

BVWS members with membership card will get a discount voucher but you must ask for it and show your card.

Another great NVCF. Conrgatulations to the organisers who put in a lot of hard work to make it happen.

Thanks to Brian, Jeremy and Judy for all their hard work on the B&B stall. We raised well over £400 for the Vintage Wireless Museum. Hence thank you all those who contributed so generously to Museum funds.
