Interesting book 'Ekco Sounds'

Just ordered what looks to be a well researched and interesting book about the history of Ekco and it's founder, E K Cole - an enlightened employer. £9.99 and post free if ordered in December. Might be of interest to a few others perhaps?

It's a bit of a big tater: rotten in the middle. The early and final chapters are by far the most interesting.

I saw the similar thread on UKVRR about the book and ordered a copy on Boxing Day afternoon. Had an email yesterday to say it had been sent out, so a quick turnaround despite the holidays.

Well, I guess a book about Ekco is welcome, but why print a cover using the image of a Philips radio? Clearly the author wasn't consulted regarding cover graphics.

Yes I thought that too Tony, one of the 'round' Ekco's would have been more appropriate rather than the 'tin of ham' shaped 834 superinductance set.

We've been away spending Christmas with our elder son, his wife and our three granddaughters since 20 Dec - not due back home till late tomorrow afternoon, then we're only home for a couple of weeks and off again, so the prospect of me reading the book, let alone writing a review in the foreseeable future are slim to non-existent, so hopefully it's something you'd be willing to undertake Robert.

Sorry I've not been around much on the forum to post anything (apart from to this thread), but then a family Christmas is just that, and I've really not had a minute to spare, which I suppose is just as it should be if I have my priorities right as a father, grandfather and husband!
