Tight squeeze in garage.

Hi,

Just to pass a bit of time away until the monsoon lets me out to play.

I've always had machinery crammed into the garage causing problems whilst backing the car in; there was always a strong chance of damaging the car so I gave the problem a bit of thought.

I wanted a simple solution and came up with the idea of painting a line on the garage floor. I carefully backed the car in ensuring it was properly aligned then marked the floor by the offside tyres then pulled the car out.

I taped the floor giving a line about an inch wide and used ordinary white emulsion paint which dries quickly. The tape was removed leaving a straight clean line.

All I need to do now is lower the drivers window and stick my head out aligning the tyres with the line knowing the car won't bump into anything; the pictures show just how little space there is around the car. It works a treat and cost nothing.

I hope this tip is of use to someone because it's been well tried and tested by me. I might have mentioned this before but its worth repeating and the pictures explain better than text.

Hi,

Many thanks Big Al; as you know one of these "Native breeds" would need to have two legs shorter than the the other two to allow them to graze in our rear garden; snow tyres or chains wouldn't be needed as well? What's the annual road tax and are they congestion charge free in cities?

How about a real work horse?
The namesake of the most famous lawn mower we have ever made here in the UK.
The stealth lawn mower comes as standard with every one of these.
Football clubs always mow there pitches with the petrol version and allow the spectators make all the noise for free.
All the rest of the gardeners pay for petrol in order to inform everyone that the grass has been growing.

Thanks Refugee and Big Al. Please; please don't shout too loudly about either Suffolk or Shire horses; if we had a couple Bron would treat them as pets and try to get them comfortable in our front room?

I sure do know Big Al what it costs to keep a horse; many years ago my sister bought a horse and had it stabled in a local racing stable; its not just the horse but all the kit also costs a fortune.

I was more into horsepower and the bigger the bike the better at least these didn't eat me out of house and home whilst parked?

I've just enjoyed a couple of hours in the garage and got a soaking as I walked back up to the bungalow as it's pouring with rain which it has done all last night and today so far. Everything is back to normal as I've been working in a black hole.

Black hole? What happened to your LED floodlight Col? I have just been using mine as I did some rewiring in the loft - VERY warm up there as you can imagine.
