As most will know, the end seals of the old metal tubular capacitors are sometimes difficult to salvage when restuffing, in the main they are black in colour both on the double ended and chassis mounting single ended ones.
I was wondering if anyone has tried casting their own with high temperature silicone rubber?
If not I might give that a go come winter time when I'm back on the case, that stuff should take soldering iron temperatures ok as I have used it in the past for sealing flue joints up.
Lawrence.
