Thanks Al, it's more than I've got....I can see the end of the Long Wire aerial, the other looks like a "Discone"? You appear to have a decent hieght there, I am assuming your house is two story.

I'm still on the shovel so not much to report on the radio front, there was an Eddy 940c I think, it was on Ebay, I put in a bid when it was around £50, I dropped out of the bidding, it went for well over £400 last night, it looked a good example though, I am still in the market for a decent one to use as an everyday receiver, my 358X is fine but I fancy a more modern one, one will turn up I dare say, if no luck I might have to settle for a Frog, they often go for £100 or under, I used one years ago and they work very well I seem to remember.

Yes, I've been kept very busy of late doing maintenance to the rear of the house: hence the plank.

Beneath the aerial mast is the flat roof of the kitchen extension; the window in the photo. is the bathroom window of the first floor. The house itself is a typical bay window-fronted 1930's semi-detached affair. We've been here about 12 years.

Yes, our local TV TX is a relay about 20 miles away: Lark Stoke. Its 'input' (which is cable fed) is from Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham. The full details are here:

Indeed, flat roofs are handy - provided, of course, that they are not perfectly horizontally flat without a tilt !

Yes...indeed, flat roofs have gained a bad reputation over the years, however if constructed and maintained properly there's 'nowt wrong with them.

At Marks request, underneath pics enclosed..You can see the 6.8k taper resistor across the regen. pot.
The coil is part of an old broadcast band and is being used as an RF choke....

Trust me Mark it's not good especially from an RF point of view, as said it does work and I've had it up to well over 20 Mhz ....but only just without it turning into a transmitter. There again it's only a developement job and not the final deal. Getting it to the final design will be a challenge from the layout aspect, it will be on a smaller chassis hopefully half the size of the one it has been developed on.
