Vintage or Modern

At what point does the vintage radio and TV end and modern stuff start.I would presume when the itam in question dosent have valves in it and it has transisters and circuit borads.
My reason for asking is that maybe some tech quearys for tv /radio ect get put in the wrong section on the forum.

Vintage, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.
I'm always amused by Items on eBay which are described as Vintage when they're from the '70s.
However, I guess that's no worse than Items described as 'rare' when there are 6 others on there starting at 99p.
I'd say more Valves than Transistors. However, the Tektronix 547 'scope is clearly not 'Modern' but has an awful lot of Transistors in it, plus a lot of valves.

in hifi circles vintage has become siver fronted mid 80's seperates with a golden age being amps record decks ect from the mid 50's to the late 60's
as far as radios well any thing pre 1970.again there is a golden age 1940/1960 , all this is of course just my opinion as i am 58years old if you are 15 years old then any thing pre 1990 maybe considered vintage.

The only thing ive got that i would class a vintage is my grandads corsa radio that got valves in it and my old 1958 300 series balelite phone with bell on/off.All my other stuff ferguson /Decca/Dynatron ect is from the 70s 80s so although modern in comparison to the valve radio/tvs its old in todays tech world.
