Not a general question, but relating to resistors in this instance.
We all know how to read resistor colour codes.
I've found myself consciously wiring them in circuit, so that the current flow is in the same direction in which you read the bands.
I find it does help to visualise the current flow when tracing the circuit, also helps when measuring the voltage drop as you can tell which way around to connect the test prods.
And before you ask with AC the first band is the highest voltage wrt chassis.
