Auction sale.

My local auction house, Ashley Waller in Cheshire, have a sale on Wednesday and Thursday, 1at and 2nd of July which includes a large number of radios, test equipment, parts, valves  and TVs etc.  There are radios from the 1930s up to the mid 1970s I reckon.
 Mostly on the Thursday sale.

If anyone wants stuff from this sale, I can bid and  uplift any item for them to collect from me later if they wish. Or they can buy on line and I can uplift and store for a short time for later collection. All lots have to be cleared by Monday.

There are some quite odd sets, along with the usual common ones.

I shall be inspecting most of the items on Thursday morning, if anyone want to know the condition of lots I shall be online at the sale. I can look but not be held responsible for condition, there are no warranties of course.

According to the catalogue,  apart from an elephant grey 746 telephone at lot 1568 and the occasional radio-related item from lot 2334 onwards, the main bulk seem to be between lots 2392 and 2460.  On the basis that lots 1 to 1499 are being sold today, I assume most of these will go under the hammer (figuratively speaking) tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon.

Any idea why lot 2401 made £2500?

I doubt that it did, there were several internet blips this afternoon. Have you checked back later on the sold prices? This lot were quite rough, some worm infested. Lots of them were robbed of the odd valve, speakers etc.
I though that many prices were over the top for some of the rougher sets. A nice McMichael 137 went for £35 I think but I have 2 already.
I only came away with one lot of 3 radios but one was a Portadyne.

Update    2401 sold for £30 plus fees, about 25%.

Ah ok, that makes sense.
I know of the seller, the rectifiers and output valves and any branded speakers will appear in due course on his ebay page.

Interesting.  I don't see the point in doing that for a few £s.  Missed the EL85 though, its a rare valve.
He got some good prices for rough sets.
