Its very quiet, but could this terrible radio be made to work?

Did all that to the photos, now they are all rotated and the forum keeps telling me there are duplicates, there are no duplicates. It won't load and save the files.
Patience with the forum is expended, forget it. That's 4 hours wasted today.
I sometimes wonder why I waste my time trying to support this forum. No one else seems to bother.

I'm sorry, Sam. It is a pain, I agree. What we need is something that will resize the images automatically (and hopefully get the rotation right, which is by no means guaranteed), but that would be a 3rd-party plugin as it's not a core part of the forum software. We have been caught out in the past with those, unfortunately, which leaves me hesitant to try any more. It might be different if I had more time to devote to the forum, but I'm busier than ever at the moment, so don't have the time to test the various plugins on my test machine.

I also share, to an extent, the sentiment expressed in your last line. I've recently paid the hosting bill for another year, but went through the usual round of "why am I doing this" thoughts. We've all seen my previous attempts at "drumming up business", but those threads don't really go anywhere because there are no simple answers. The internet is changing, and people's lives and situations change as well. Therefore, internet forums are nowhere near as active as they used to be. It's the same the world over. I still get a lot out of reading through various forums, but it's rare that I'm able to contribute because of the time pressures I have.

I've no idea about the future of this place. We typically average around 30 visits from logged in members a day. We often go days and days with no new posts. It's barely alive. What should I do?

Anyway, I have just deleted the "orphaned" uploads, so you shouldn't get the duplicate error message. I totally understand if you don't want to try again, but thank you for starting the thread and at least trying to generate some interest.

Thank you for your understanding Mark. 
I sympathise with your dilemma about continuing and paying for the privilege, my frustrations are slight by comparison and cost me nothing.
The thrust of the matter is that at my age, time is a limited commodity and patience wanes in inverse proportion to age.
If I feel more gracious tomorrow I may try again, taking the photos with a proper camera rather than a phone where controlling file size can be altered easily.
I am shocked at the lack of interest by forum members.

And yes, this Forum is a bit quiet - I log in every day, to check. Even UKVRR seems to have a bit less than it did 5 years ago (so it seems to me - I don't have figures to back it up).

Anyway, with your 5-valve octal superhet, there'll be a bit of traffic soon, hopefully!

I too would like to see the photo's Sam, so please don't give up !
I don't post much myself but like to read about what others are up to.
I'm one of those peculiar folk that don't have a smartphone and still use my Lumix camera for taking pictures ; I also use Irfanview for resizing images.

I use a Lumix camera and Irfanview too. It's such an ingrined procedure that I would have no thoughts about trying to use a smartphone.

I read all the posts here but not having much knowledge of particular equipment don't post much.

I just take pic on my smartphone and transfer them via USB to my PC. Then Irfanview and/or a right click resizer to orientate, crop and resize. Like with BusyBee and her camera, it's ingrained.
