Lorlin 1 pole 12 way rotary switch

Help!
I've got one thats fallen apart. I've no idea where to place the metal connector on any of the pins so that the switch can work from 1 - 10 (for use it will be following Avo valve tester 0 to 9).
The pic bellow is an example but its not the one I have.

Please help

I have not seen that one before but I imagine is follows usual practice.

Is there an end stop such that it will only rotate a certain number of positions? (some 12 way types will just keep rotating but when set to 10 way the contact may hit an end stop.

Is it possible to logically check a position at a time.

Sometimes it's a bit trial and error but obviously you only really want to clip it back together once.

The annoying part is that there are no numbers in the inside of the switch. I did have an initial trial but it would only switch from 0 to 8 and not 0 to 9....doh!

There's a fixed stop, and also an adjustable stop, for these (a washer with a little tab that slots through one of many holes in the moulding, just behind the panel nut).

Do you have that washer?

If yes, then as far as the internal contact goes, it's just trial and error - though if you get it wrong once, you should be able to work things out such that the second attempt is right.

The hardest thing with these is putting the spring and ball-bearing detent together. There is a curved channel, accessible in one position, that facilitates this - else you could have a ball launched across the room!

Yes I do have the washer and may have placed it in the wrong place?? I set it with the lock in piece to point 9 BUT it should have been at 10 (to cover 0 to 9 - 10 switch places). The hard part is that the base is still soldered (hard to move to reassemble) in and it's difficult to line up with no number markings.
Yes, the spring and balls had already shot out and I was lucky to find then inside the case of the valve tester.
