Hi I did have the ultimate respect especially Allen Millyard and Fuzz Townsend but what planet is Henry Cole on after watching the last 15 minutes of tonights episode they bought a rat Jaguar E type with a BMW floor and running gear with a E type V12 body shell welded on top of the BMW floor plan . In my opinion the car is only worth scrap value ( Not over 30K that they so called expert valued at ) and not legal on UK roads and if you could legally get insured and if involved in a claim and heaven forbid if someone got hurt in an accident the insurance would not pay out . Before I retired as a mechanic / Mot Tester I would refuse to test it on safety grounds and believe me I would find some thing to justify to refuse not to test it .kind regards Bob

I didnt watch it Bob. Given up on Henry Cole, why he keeps getting repeat progs is beyond me. When Allen Millyard is in on I do watch his restorations as he is a remarkable engineer although some of his creations seem a bit weird.

Hi Gary I had the pleasure in talking to Allen Millyard at Newark Autojumble as you say a remarkable engineer and he should do his own program and making a V12 Kawasaki by fabricating 2 6 cylinder 1300cc engines together was some achievement and making it look like it was factory built kind regards Bob

Normal cut and shuts sometimes used to fall in half again.
Not a good thing to be driving about in.

Hi and these clowns of TV presenters are making obscene amount of money by featuring rubbish that should not be allowed on the road the BMW should have been broken for spare parts and the remains of the E Type should have been used in restoring another E Type kind regards Bob

And then there's Edd China's road legal settee.

IIRC there was an episode of Car SOS where the vehicle they were working on had been scrapped.

It had been put in a pile using a forklift, then taken back off the pile, "restored" & sold to some unfortunate punter.

It was some variety of Italian rustbucket and the forklift experience had bent it just a tad though the newspapers & plastic filler covered with underseal obviously made it completely safe.

It's amazing what you can do with a MIG welder after cutting out all the rust as they eventually got the thing back on the road.

Update just watched the full show the car is still on the DVLA database as a white 1990 BMW 325 so illegal to use on the road as no modifications have been declared in the body type wheel plan section of the V5C registration document & this would cause serious insurance issues and consequences in a claim . Henry and Fuzz paid £270250 for what ? useless junk . Alarm bells started to ring to me who had actually MOTED it in 2019 was it a BMW 3 series ? or the the dangerous dogs dinner this car is and it would have been a refusal to MOT as it is not a BMW . What makes it worse it has sharp edges on the bodywork and electrical wiring that is insecure and inadequately secured that is a instant fail and interior is just as bad with not type approved seatbelts fitted and the unpadded alloy light weight seats they fitted would result in you been seriously injured in an accident . That is why cars are type approved on even something simple like an indicator stalk braking in a manner not to injure you in a collision that's my moaning done kind regards Bob
