We had a Caraligner jig, believe me, some of the deviations even on nearly new cars were not small.

The old Skodas were soundly built motors, did some crash repairs on them, easy, didn't twist up the chassis legs. Just the paint, synthetic plastic Permabel by ICI, yuck.

Oh God Permabel.......... I remember that stuff well especially if the car had been "done" in it before, a quick hit with cellulose would cause all sorts of bubbles.

Well went to the Elite place and that is where the money goes. Bentley, Mercs, Ferraris including a 17 plate (maybe the owners). Anyway certainly huge and an excellent café as well.

Now to the tracking, did the front toe. Figures were: -0.08 / -0.07 before to 0.00 / -0.01 after. Total toe before -0.15 to 0.00 after.

It made a difference to the rear camber: -1.16 / -0.58 before to -1.15 / -1.0 after.

Other figures much the same.

Will it correct the problem, I have no clue but will watch the tyres very carefully. What I would say and I don't think its just in the mind but the car drives differently. At any speed it runs, on a flat road, totally straight with one finger or none. I thought it was good for this before but now it is arrow straight and perhaps I was making corrections before that I didn't notice until the track was put right.

I hope Sam who obviously understands these things and the affects is not going to shatter my illusion. Guess I'm hoping not ...

It was toeing out too much, the fact that they could see a camber change in the rear means they know what they are doing.
You can feel a quarter of a degree toe out, but not toe in, on the steering.
You will be right now, don't kerb it! Money well spent I reckon.

Totally agree with Sam. You get some odd effects with toe out,also inner tread wear on the tyre. Time to wait and see.

Another problem put to rest ... for a while anyway.

Certainly an impressive setup there and well worth the drive, pretty easy to get to from here.
