Presumably, the replacement vibrator continues to use the step-up transformer that is part of the set? I've limited experience of these things, but this is the only type I've met before. But forgive me if I'm wrong...
However, if I'm right, it won't be anything like 1MHz as the transformer won't stand a chance of working at that sort of frequency. For something running at 1MHz, it will be using its own magnetics - in other words, it'll be a switched-mode boost converter or similar. That's almost certainly how their voltage boosters will work, but actually, 1MHz is on the high side for such a thing. Having had a quick look, I can't find any reference to 1MHz operation on the website, but I did find this paragraph:

Either way, it'll be very easy indeed to determine the switching frequency. Literally 30 seconds with a 'scope
If you still haven't lugged that Philips 'scope down to your workshop yet, one of those cheap Aneng multimeters that I reviewed a while back will measure frequency - to 1MHz and beyond
