Black Magic paint.

Hi,

As promised I said I would update regarding this paint.

It's only a few weeks ago I applied this black magic paint to the exterior wooden handrails and plastic piping.

What a disappointment. I pressure washed the patio and caught the pipes removing some of the paint and on the handrails its already failing miserably as seen in the pictures.

I had high hopes for this Black Magic paint but now consider it a waste of money. I live and learn; this afternoon I've just rubbed the handrails down and applied Johnstone's black gloss.

Some I win some I lose it's called a learning curve.

Thanks David; yes I've posted on Ideal World website reviews but it will take up to 48 hours before my review will appear; about as long as this paint lasts?

You couldn't be more right Refugee; the number of times we've seen something advertised to death only to see it suddenly disappear; we notice this with lots of new movies which receive glowing reviews but the movies are utter rubbish.

We bought a powerful vacuum cleaner through Ideal World to replace our old but still working Hoover Junior vac; the new vac almost pulls the nails out of the floorboards but what damage is it doing to our carpets and it's always covered in dust with a number of filters which need constant cleaning; this was another product receiving the big sell.

Tomorrow I'll give the handrails a second coat of Johnstones black gloss. Johnstones oil based gloss is excellent paint. I'm saving the expensive Little Greene paint until I replace the double glazed units then I'll repaint all the exterior woodwork with the Little Greene paint and I might even splash out on a top quality "Wooster" paint brush. It will be interesting to see how the Little Greene paint compares to Johnstone paint?

When we had a TV the film reviews in the listing magazines were best skipped it they were more than 1 1/2 column inches. Also id the female star was named in the first sentence it would be soft porn.
You have now got it right with the pains by chatting to trade users.
As far as cleaners go a lay-by full of rubbish is wrong if there is not at least one Dyson in the pile.
I spotted contract cleaning staff leaving offices and almost all of them used the same cleaner. This was back in the 1980s and I bought one and as you have guessed it is still going strong.
It is the old one without the cable winder.

We've been using Numatic 'Henry's for years: they have stood up to some very heavy use and very rarely have they failed. Once I had to replace the brushes for the motor: got them direct from the manufacturer in Somerset - and the price was very reasonable, too. Prior to discovering the 'Henry', we had a Dyson: what a total load of rubbish! Within one year from new, I took it to the skip. As a person who has spent his entire working life in engineering, I just couldn't tolerate owning a vacuum cleaner that was so evidently unsuitable for its designed task. It was all frills, gadgets and trimmings; all the money had gone into its 'appearance', none into the basic functional design. I felt that the item had been 'designed' by the Dyson Marketing Dep't. OTOH, the Numatic 'Henry' is a basic, but highly efficient, vacuum cleaner. Hence, one rhetorical question: what do you want from a vacuum cleaner?

The plastic parts on Dysons brake so easily that the motor brushes are worth saving if you see one dumped. If it had been less than a year old I would have taken it back for a refund.

Those Henries are good, tend to go on for years, my wife however doesn't like the appearance of them so we got a Miele, another good vacuum cleaner in our experience, we also have an old Goblin for the rough stuff, looks cheap and tatty but still going.

Film reviews, yeah basically all crap, when they promote them on the telly it means they are doing so because no ones buying the DVD or going to the local bug hut to watch them because the film is still crap.
That's the way I see it anyways.

If it sounds too good to true it probably is but unfortunately "Probably" isn't the same as "Definitely and the only way to be sure is try it.

As well as your review have you made a proper complaint? It certainly smacks of "Not fit for the purpose for which it is sold."
