Are the days of big woodies over?

Hi.
I always offer postage on stuff I sell or give away. I've never had a problem with posting. Boxes are always kept when a package comes here, I store to them in my loft. I buy a couple of rolls of bubble wrap every few months if I'm busy in moving things on. Being in Scotland it's very unlikely that sales are local and I'm always happy to send it to my English friends and customers, a lot of the time it's not reciprocated sadly.
I use Hermes and Parcels 2 go for heavier items, packing to a high standard only takes about half an hour single handed and that's with spinal stenosis.

Many often say this owes me this and that, how does it owe you anything? It was your choice to obtain it, fix it or otherwise, give up on it, sell it or keep it. Never say it owes me bla bla bla. State a price that's realistic be honest and you'll do well. I'm not rich and am happy to help others I'd rather give an item away and pay the postage to someone that'll enjoy the set. If they decide to sell it later it won't eat me up as that's their prerogative.

Have you a local auction house? We don't have transport, and faced with the problem of reducing an accumulation of about 700 radios and related items by half to make our, I trust final, relocation possible, I emailed Millers of Newcastle. Sorting out the items to get those I was ready to part with nearest the front door was a labour, but there were no other complications, the auctioneers' collection van made five visits spaced over three weeks, practically everything sold though a proportion of items took more than one attempt, and we cleared around £6k which just about covered our removal expenses. Regardless of the financial side I would have hated consigning any sets to the dump, this way they all returned to circulation so a multitude of new owners could do as they thought fit with them. I noticed some on eBay in the succeeding months, absolutely fine by me and good luck to their sellers.
