I don't think the Dulwich museum has either of those sorts of colour sets. It's possible there is a working dual standard colour set. I've helped at Dulwich since 1986 though not very much of late. My main job is keeping the TV infrastructure working. I designed and built the current setup with the help of the late Terry Casey who was an expert on RF distribution. We distribute BBC1 405 on Ch1, ITV 405 on Ch9 and BBC2 625 on Ch33. Just like London in 1967.

I have a Thorn 2000 but I seem to have run out of steam while restoring it. My friend Mike Bennett in Solihull certainly has both and is usually willing to receive guests.

Many thanks for the update Jeffrey - am sure the Dulwich museum will be a fascinating visit when the time is right, and I am very grateful to yourself and all the others who keep it open and operational.
Would love to see the broadcast standards converter if that's still housed at Dulwich.

If your friend in Solihull is able to accept visitors in the future I would certainly welcome a visit to his collection too.

Alas the ex broadcast converters have gone from Dulwich. They were simply too big and peripheral to the museum's collection. They have gone to a good home.

There was a working GEC 2028 dual-standard colour TV in the Dulwich museum last time I visited (September 2019). It was seen working on both 405 monochrome and 625 colour. The museum usually has an annual Television Day when the vintage TVs are shown off, and visitors are invited to bring something from their own collection. Last year someone brought along a few 819-line TVs which were also seen working with an Aurora standards converter.

Mike Bennett in Solihull has a private collection of vintage TVs including an Ekco experimental colour set with round CRT. He usually has a get-together once a year when he invites enthusiasts to come along and see some of the collection, chat about old TVs and bring some sets or parts to swap with others. I've been a number of times - it's great fun!

Sadly the coronavirus has put all events on hold for the time being, but hopefully things will resume at some point.
