A person local to me got his new call sign last week and has been waiting for some suitable weather to erect some aerials.  I think his new call starts with G6 so looks like a full Licence
Well done on passing to get yours and nice to know that there will be two new amateur stations on the air.

I used to have an MFJ 9049E ATU which served me well for many years until I got a used  Palstar AT2K, which I found even better. I sold my MFJ at Dunstable rally.

I have a half size G5RV and in my case the connection between the ladder line and the coax is made inside an old plastic box.
I also have a long wire aerial for 80m and 160m.
I also have aerials for 2m/70cms and 6m.

What rig(s) are you using,  the new licencee near me has bought an Icon 7300. He also used to be in the Royal signals so his morse code is good.
Hope you have a lot of fun on the air despite now being in a low sunspot cycle.

I passed my Foundation exam on Thursday, so looking forward to getting my call sign.

Great! I knew you could.
Now I must put up an 80m aerial. At the right time of day & conditions it's the most likely band for us.
2m SSB or PSK31 on my 13 element beam (also not mounted right now) needs special Trop. The 10m SSB or PSK31 needs more special conditions. Sometimes 160m or 40m will work at our distance. Too close I think for 20m. Italy can be good during the day on 20m.

It will be a bit more useful if I can pass my Intermediate at the end of April and get the power up from 10w to 50w.
Radios at the moment include a Yaseu FT767GX with just HF and 2m module. A Yaesu FT857D which does just about everything up to 70cm. A CRT SS6900 for 11m and 10m. And a selection of ropey VHF and UHF handhelds. Which I have programmed for the 2m bands and the PMR channels.
I also have my old 27/81 CB radios from the early 80's, still all working nicely.
When I get my callsign the 857D will probably go in the car.
