I think that is just the A239, the /1 for the first incarnation, but they never did any others.

According to that the early ones didn't have the ferrite aerial, the capacitor we've been discussing was different and so was the type of tuning indicator. The version I've got is towards the end.

Typical of me to get something non-standard - you never know,it might be a valuable rarity!

Might be Joe, The service data I have is the trader and the manufacturers sheet you have.

So for the cap under discussion 450v dc working should do the trick.

Thanks for that, Mark. The only place I could find AC ones were Farnell's but they were in America so came with a sixteen quid postage charge: on a 19p cap!

I've come across various data, Trader, ERT, R&TS plus manufacturer's and they all seem to have good and bad points.

ht should be 231 volt at the anode of el84 c79 could be 400 volt 0.0025mf
tuning indicator should have 70 volt on anode
for no vhf try c77 0.01mf ht decoupling
