Yes, I've set it to 9'0clock so it doesn't bother us too much when it goes off at 0900 and 2100.

No, it just moves the alarm hand.

I do have an alternative plan. Open up the clock and disconnect the sounder. We don't need the alarm at all.

Sorry, my fault, I was confusing the knob on the back with the button on the top.

When you push the button down to silence the alarm, can you then turn it to lock it in the down position?

No, the buttons cannot be turned or latched in any way that I can see.

It's obviously so simple that only a child could work it. Perhaps I should find a child.

Perhaps, the next time you buy something 'technical' you will put the instructions away somewhere safe!

I didn't buy it. I came from Ruth's late partner. We never did find the instructions. Either as dead tree or on line.

When we moved here there was a fitted electric oven but all we could get it to do was flash 00:00!

Fortunately, in a kitchen drawer, we found a thick folder containing lots of instruction books for a wide variety of devices - some of which no longer exist! - including the oven. Once we'd found out how to set the time, it started working!
