Don't expect to get 30mA through your body - its a lot of current. The RCD may save you from death but you will still get a massive shock anyway. A few mA will chuck you across the room.

The experience/damage you get depends on a load of things - how low the impedance path to ground is (are you sweaty, barefoot and standing in a tub of salty water), the frequency of the zap (if it doesn't kill you, RF shocks can do subtle long-term nerve damage etc.), and how the the current passes through your body to ground, specifically : is the earth path via the left side of your chest? Other stuff too...

Just be safe.

Had very few shocks overtime, this one though was carelessness on my part due to not double checking I'd removed the correct plug! Fortunately I suffer with dry skin and although I did cut my thumb the shock wasn't horrific and I'm here to tell the tale.
Perhaps a reminder not to solely rely on an RCD.

Worst belt I had was a 20kV capacitor bank made of hockey puck ceramic caps in parallel. Discharged it through a resistor, waited a bit then removed it. Took the ground strap off. Came back a while later and picked it up - POW. That was my discovery of dielectric recovery writ large, and also my discovery of the SIDE rule.

Switch off, Isolate, Dump, Earth. One of my favourites, watched in glorious monochrome as we couldn't afford a colour set back then.

Surely: Volts Jolts, Mils Kills.

Total energy matters too. Momentary high current says ouch but if it's only for a few milliseconds you'll likely live.

Oh I remember it well Lawrence. Still very much apt today. The wives sister in laws brother got severe burns working for Scottish Power on an overhead cable when procedure wasn't properly done, he survived fortunately and got a whopping amount as compensation.

I used to be a trade test colour film junkie back in my early/mid teens, and I remember that one well having watched it again. And very very relevant.

But it is really a product of its time - "The man", "These men" - like job adverts in Wireless World - British Airways and Smiths Industries were two of the better know companies who said "The successful man..."

I would post a photo of my hand when I got a sustained mains shock from an innocent looking mains/battery radio. It lasted about 6 to 10 seconds as both my hands locked tightly onto the radio chassis. But it would probably make you feel ill.
Suffice to say it caused a deep burn into the flesh and I lost about 2cm x 3cm of skin. It took over 3 months to heal as the sub layers of skin had been partially cooked and killed.
