I think that is very clever how you have managed to change that knob. I cant tell any difference to the photos of the radio I had.

Yes, they were slightly curved convex inwards brass.

Have to find those bright inserts to finish the job. Glasnost: the truth is to alter the oversize knob took many hours to get it right.

I press my own brights in a vice. My woodturning shed buddy makes a male and female die in hardwood to the size and shape required, 20 thou brass circle, a ton of pressure and its done.
Nice knob fettling.

I've used cooking foil.
Damp card pressed to shape with a teaspoon.
Dish foil with teaspoon soft mat.
Glue to card.
Colour with metallic pen or spray.
Trim and glue into knob after removal of old glue. Sometimes I just fill knob with metallic pen.
I just got some heavy metallic craft foils from Lidl to try.

Or at least something that looks very much like the Pye.

There is also one in one of 70's Steptoe & Son shows. I'll need to dig out my collection and find out what one.
