'TENS' Unit for pain relief

Thanks for reading the thread Gary and for your interesting comments.

I've come to the conclusion that a TENS   unit would be of no practical benefit to me  as I don't really need pain relief - my main problem is if I walk more than say a mile or so. I don't have a problem climbing stairs, driving, and generally going about my business - sitting at a desk, standing in the workshop etc. Oddly, I sometimes wake up in the night and the pain is quite severe, but then if I get up for a nocturnal loo break, I can walk about fine without any pain. I'll see what the doc says - I've had X-Rays, but I'm sure that they'll only confirm osteoarthritis, just as they would in my other knee or my hips, which aren't causing me problems.  I'll keep soldiering on, making a nuisance of myself till I see a specialist. I'm not convinced that the pain is just down to joint wear, so only an MRI scan would give the full picture (cartilage etc).

As far as TENS Units - the basis of this thread, I think  that for me, it's not a solution.
