I think brands these days are pay yer money and keep yer fingers crossed. I tend not to go high tech, our present TV is a small Panasonic, we got it cheap as a local firm was having a clear out, all we have is a remote control for it and and an aerial plugged in, it picks up all the freeview channels on it so it's ok for us.
