Yes Al, a reasonably usable display at 30 Mhz is what I'm after for the reasons you have stated, most 'scopes that quote 3 db bandwidth say to 30 Mhz seem to be between 7 to 10 Mhz bandwidth on the lower sensitivity setting.
The Hameg 400 (analogue) is one such scope, their quoted 3 db bandwidth is I think 40 Mhz but drops to 10 Mhz on the lowest setting.
I think for my budget an analogue 'scope would suit me better than digital of equivalent price.
There's loads of lower priced secondhand 'scopes on Ebay but as always it's a gamble I think many of them maybe on the upward slope of the bathtub curve.....
I'll have to see what the funds are like nearer the time.
