I've finished re-capping this which has made no noticeable difference to the sensitivity or lack of LW. Resistors next.
I can't find any shorts in the tuning gang; the only thing that seems amiss with that is that the rubber grommets are shot so it's a bit loose.
Bypassing the resistor on the Gram socket brings the volume from that up nicely.
I'm certainly enjoying this one. I've never felt as out of my depth, frustrated and generally inadequate with any other valve radio, including the infamous 'Little Maestro' which was the first I tried to do, as I did with that PCR. Transistors are a different matter.
