Thanks for the links both of you, I reckon that one of those sets would be worthy of restoration just from an output stage/historical point of view.

I reckon you have hit the nail there Alan, insofar that I would say it was designed for the sticks dwellers then probably thrown out when the mains came so could be quite rare in relative terms.
