As promised this is my second Formo Coil, and this is how it was advertised.
I didn't actually know that it was Formo when I bought it. The attraction was the Base, which is from yet another Manufacturer. I haven't a clue who 'Bullphone Radio Products' are.
When it arrived it was just as disastrous as the Pictures
A first sweep round with an AVO produced absolutely nothing. Errrrr?
Careful examination of the Wires and Pins showed that:-
It's all solid Wire not Litz.
The Wires were wrapped round the Pins and jammed into the Slots but not soldered although there is Solder at the Base of the Pins.
Everything was corroded.
Unwrapping the Wires and cleaning the Pins produced this:-
I can't say that I'm confident I know what it is, but it looks to me like a Medium Wave Coil with an Aerial Tap and a Reaction Winding.
I'll try to straighten out the Windings and see what goes where.
