I seem to have confused myself here. In the pic looking inside the osc coil you can see something blue at the bottom which I "thought" may have been a ferrite slug, hence the question regarding what to glue the copper to the ferrite with.
Removing the sealing wax on the opposite side of the coil now reveals that its not a ferrite slug but in fact a blue threaded nylon plug. In the pic you can see a long pip at the bottom of the coil, this pip goes up inside a pre-drilled hole (see pic) in the copper bullet, the adhesive holding it in there has failed allowing the bullet to fall out.
