I've got a lot of admiration for JLB!
Never stuck for something to do, his jam-making enterprise, then his bedsocks, and finally having a go at television.
Despite the fact that there's no technical legacy still in use, he got a demonstrable working system together, and moved officialdom to get it implemented. Then just about managed colour; recorded a few videodiscs, and kick-started the world.
The only issue is, looking at the material that is broadcast, I feel TV is still a technology looking for a worthwhile application...
