The TMB draws 8 amps on 12v, not good when the dynamo only gave 22amps on a good day and when the engine was well over 1500 rpm, no good in that city at night, the width would be going all over the place
On 2 meters (145mhz) mobile FM flutter is an issue unless you are close to the other stations.
Agree that UHF will be the same
These days analogue would be awful with all the electronic noise in modern cars.
