Thanks for the Golborne link BTW
As I said in PM every forum is different and the moderators job is to apply the forums rules.
I was a Field service engineer for many years until I started working overseas I did a lot of miles up to 100,000 ( Astras) a year at one point but for Tax purposes I have had to record my annual mileages and keep it to this day. Its now in excess of 2,500,000 miles since I started in FS in 1978.
When you put 120,000 miles on a Hillman Avenger in 2 years( no mechanical failures) and you blow up 3 engines in the junk Escort Mk 3 in 60,000 miles (cambelt fails) you know a bit about cars.
Now I am all electric.
Cheers

Just a friendly leg pull Mike
It is all a bit silly..... (but FWIW it was a genuine oversight on my part. Sorry
)My own mileage record is 18000 miles in 6 months.... but that's on the streets of London, not motorway miles, and on a 250cc Honda motorbike (it was 100% reliable during this and then a further 12000 or so miles I did on it as a "civilian". Just wearing service items replaced). I did a few stints as a London dispatch rider many years ago. I could tell some tales about that!
