All your photos show pristine almost brand new instruments Lucien. I havent been so lucky. Some of the Hammonds ( and Fender Rhodes pianos )
have been bashed around in cars,trucks, aeroplanes and ships holds for years in some cases. Dust, cigarette ash and smoke are usually part of the mix.
Not to forget lots of conductive road dust from Australias outback. Add to this that some of the organs have been cut in half to remove the wooden legs on
B2 series, and I think C3 series, to make them "handleable ". Its not easy dragging an organ that weighs about 500 pounds up the back steps of an aussie pub.
Likewise the Leslie boxes. The back stairs are VERY steep and the treads are usually only 220 mm wide ( modern standard MUST be 300 mm ).
The full wood Hammonds are also shaped exactly wrong to fit through a door too.
The whole while the big multipin connector that connects the pedal clavier to the main organ is catching on every step.
The joys of roadey ing.
Back to keys and key switching, cleaning them is to say the least VERY difficult, and usually requires two or three attempts.
That usually manages to bend a few of the contacts which then require retensioning AND positioning.
Same thing with the slide stops, that collect dirt and smoke, spilt drinks and the inevitable large clods of cigarette ash.
The one NICE thing about a Hammond, is it doesnt get out of tune if the syncronous motor and starter are in decent condition.
